Fog on the Gotenba Slope

The small rope between the guide poles is the only way of staying
on the path when the fog sets over the featureless cindered slope
of Gotenba.  Going down is easy, but going down to civilization
instead of deep forest is not so easy.  This gentle loose cinder
slope makes Gotenba famous as the fastest way down, since
people can run fairly safely.
