Ninth Station Shrine and Rest House, Fujiyoshida Slope

Sunrise on Mount Fuji is a very special time.  One tradition has it
that the best time to take your last step up to the rim of the
volcano is just as the sun rises, so that as you mount the ridge
you turn and see the sun rising over the horizon for a sublime
experience.  It is a wonderful event with cheering and applause.  
In this image you can barely see the tiny disk of the sun breaking
through the haze on the far right of the image.
